Fees and sponsorships have not covered expenses for 25 of the 30 years.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Q:<\/strong>\u00a0 What does a pilgrim&#8217;s registration fee help to provide?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:<\/strong>\u00a0 Plenty. For example:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; instructions, preparation, guidance to step-off, and every step along The Way &#8212; given by veteran pilgrim-servants<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; pilgrims&#8217; prayer &amp; songs booklet<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; brigade organization to lead in prayer &amp; guide a pilgrim on the road and in camp<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; modest first-aid for foot-sore pilgrims on the road and in camp<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; all the bottled water a pilgrim needs to drink over the course of three days<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; the camping fee for all three nights at three private campsites &#8211; Thursday, Friday and Saturday, day-0, day-1 &amp; day-2<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"font-size:10px; \">NOTE: Pilgrims opting to camp overnight Thursday, day-0, at <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ZN5qVT4VwfHVTmZz7\" target=\"_blank\">Charles R. Wood Park<\/a> remit the reservation fee when they register for pilgrimage and choose the option to reserve a spot. The fee for overnighting at Wood Park is included again in the registration fee in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Pilgrims who wish to overnight at a different campsite or a local motel in Lake George Village must book &#038; pay the chosen establishment for it in advance.<\/h1>\n<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; bread, soup, and hot water to supplement two suppers (Fri-Sat) in camp<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; bread &amp; jam, apples, and hot water to supplement three breakfasts (Fri-Sun) in camp<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; hauling of all baggage &amp; gear from camp to camp each day<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; vans to give rest to weary walkers all three days<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; port-a-potties all three days following the main column, walking<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; <a title=\"Request the shuttle, provided gratis by organizers BUT ONLY AT YOUR REQUEST, from the destination shrine at Auriesville Thursday afternoon or evening to the check-in &amp; step-off location in Lake George Village.\" href=\"https:\/\/pilgrimage-for-restoration.org\/blog\/?p=6144\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shuttle service<\/a> to step-off location Thursday evening; that is, from arrival parking lot at the Shrine in Auriesville, or from a public transportation (PT) terminal in Albany &#8212; Albany Internat&#8217;l Airport or downtown bus or rail terminal &#8212; to the step-off location, and return to the parking lot or PT terminal Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; <b>&#8211; a free, hot, hardy, plentiful meal and <i>agap\u0113<\/i> send-off after holy Mass Sunday<\/b> &#8230; a joyful way of giving thanks and exchanging warm goodbyes with fellow pilgrims, especially prized by those who have long distances to drive, lots of mouths to feed, and wishing to reduce the interruption and the cost of stopping on the way home.<\/p>\n<p>And that just skims the proverbial surface. <\/p>\n<p><b>Find out more<\/b> in <a title=\"See the Q. &amp; A.'s of pilgrimage.\" href=\"https:\/\/pilgrimage-for-restoration.org\/blog\/?cat=35\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Questions &amp; Answers 1 through 9 on the blog<\/a>. https:\/\/pilgrimage-for-restoration.org\/blog\/?cat=35<br \/>\n<\/h1>\n<blockquote><p><b>Q.<\/b> What costs does the registration fee <em><strong>not<\/strong><\/em> cover?<br \/>\n<b>A.<\/b> The registration fee does <strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong> cover &#8212;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8211; The cost of a nearby motel accommodation for Thursday (see <a title=\"Two options for overnighting Thursday after check-in, and before step-off Friday morning\" href=\"https:\/\/pilgrimage-for-restoration.org\/arrival\/thursday-night-accommodations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this post<\/a> for more about Thursday options)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the cost of transportation that each pilgrim incurs &#8211;whether driving or flying &#8212; to arrive Thursday in Auriesville, and to return home<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"font-size:10px; \">( Confer, on the other hand, the notes above about the shuttle service Thursday afternoon from Auriesville to a motel nearby or the campground at the step-off location approx. 65 miles northeast of Auriesville.
