Once you’ve registered, begun to pray with fellow pilgrims, and requested the shuttle, it’s time to make plans to overnight Thursday for the bright & early step-off Friday morning.
There are basically three choices, which are as follows, in order of pilgrim-popularity:
1. Stay at Cramer’s Point Motel & Cottages in Lake George Village.
Clean & very comfortable rooms are offered at special, charity rates to pilgrims since the pilgrimage began by owners and fellow-pilgrims Frank & Marian Sause. Advance reservations are necessary by calling Frank or Marian at 518/668-2292, or by e-mail to stay@cramerspointmotel.com. Be sure to mention the pilgrimage, and to request the charity of the owners in order to obtain the reduced rate. Cost is not included in the pilgrimage fee.
The Company of St. René Goupil volunteers will shuttle pilgrims to Cramer’s Point Thursday afternoon/evening and then to step-off Friday morning, provided they have requested the shuttle in advance.
2. Camp at Lake George Battleground Campground.
Camping there costs $22 per site – NOT per camper – and is also not included in the pilgrimage registration fee. Pilgrims arrange sharing sites with other pilgrims upon arrival. Reservations are not necessary, but each pilgrim must pay the management on site, at the campground entrance hut, on arrival or as soon after as possible, preferably before nightfall.
The Company of St. René Goupil volunteers will shuttle pilgrims to the campground Thursday afternoon/evening, provided they have requested the shuttle in advance. (There is no need to shuttle pilgrims from campground to step-off Friday morning, since rendezvous & step-off is within walking distance.)
3. Stay at one of the several other motels or hotels in Lake George Village.
The Company of St. René Goupil volunteers will shuttle pilgrims to accommodations Thursday afternoon/evening and then to step-off Friday morning, provided they have requested the shuttle in advance.
