Once you’ve registered, begun to pray with fellow pilgrims, and requested the shuttle, it’s time to make plans to overnight Thursday in order to be ready to form up with your brigade, pray holy Mass, eat breakfast, and step-off bright & early Friday morning.
There are two options for overnight accommodations Thursday in Lake George Village.
Option 1.
Camp in Wood Park, reserved for pilgrims by organizers.
Pilgrims reserve their campsite at registration – $10 per pilgrim or $35 per group/family/RV.
a. Pilgrims camp in personal, group, or/and family tents. No campfires permitted.
b. Families or seniors participating in the ‘modified events’ may park an RV, camper, or van on the gravel track in the Park – but, no hook-ups are available.
c. Portable toilets situated in Wood Park by organizers. Public toilets and running water located approx. 250 feet from Park. Remote electrical service only.
To reserve a site in Wood Park after you have already registered, return to the registration webform, look for the “Thursday night accommodations” heading, select a “Thursday night camp-site” for “individual” or “group/family”, add your choice to the cart, and check out.
Wood Park is the location of check-in Thursday and where brigades reform Friday morning before holy Mass, breakfast, and step-off.
Organizers shuttle pilgrims to check-in at Wood Park Thursday so long as pilgrims request the shuttle in advance.
See this post to learn the basics about the shuttle, and this post for more information.
Option 2.
Pilgrims book and pay for their own Thursday overnight accommodations elsewhere in Lake George Village.
Organizers shuttle pilgrims to check-in at Wood Park Thursday, and from there to a pilgrim’s overnight accommodations elsewhere so long as each pilgrim requests the shuttle in advance.
Early Friday morning, organizers shuttle pilgrims back to Wood Park where pilgrims form up with their brigades, prepare for holy Mass, and later eat breakfast. (Shuttle drivers confirm the itinerary when bringing pilgrims to overnight accommodations Thursday evening.)
An old favorite of pilgrims is Cramer’s Point Motel, at 3382 Lake Shore Dr, Lake George NY 12845-6620; tel 518/668-2292. stay@cramerspointmotel.com
The cost for staying Cramer’s Point is also not covered by the registration fee. When reserving a room at Cramer’s Point Motel, you can mention that you are a pilgrim and that you are willing to share a room with another pilgrim – which might or might not qualify for a reduced rate.
An alternative for RVs that provides hook-ups is Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites – a 3-minute drive to the step-off location Friday morning, located at 1784 NYS Hwy 9, Lake George NY 12845; 518-668-5565.
