It’s 11pm in Rome, and the first ballot shows black smoke.
Do you really believe that humble prayers of the faithful can make a difference? Really?
What about the difference between a blessing and a punishment?
After all, it is St. Thomas, The Angelic Doctor himself, who says that societies get the leaders they deserve.
Do the ‘humble of prayer’ deserve more punishment in prolonged crisis of faith? Or a restoration of the Church as hospital: the healing action of His curates applied to our mortally wounded, sickened souls?
The same God who alone will surely will decide what we deserve is the same God who admonishes us: “Ask, and you shall receive.”
He also says: “Make promises, and keep them.”
Why not make a promise now to Christ-God, while there is still time, before the conclave concludes.
Making a pilgrimage is not nearly as hard as you might think. And nobody makes pilgrimage alone.
To start, pre-register for the 18th annual Pilgrimage for Restoration.
Even if you cannot make it in September, promise to make a pilgrimage in His honor (for example, by praying with or for pilgrims), in thanksgiving to Him for blessing the Church with a Supreme Pastor who will guide the flock to greener pastures, laying down his life for Christ and His sheep.
P.S. And while you’re at it, why not put in a good word for the one member of the conclave who is more than capable to do what it takes to reconcile to the Holy Roman See the Church’s tradition-minded faithful, East & West: His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith.
