Our Blessed Mother & Theotokos has asked that her faithful children do reparation for the sins (mine, yours, ours and ‘theirs’) which are committed against Her Immaculate Heart.
She’s been so good to you — even when you are not paying attention. Or did you forget she’s been watching over and caring for you, just like a good mother, all these years. And not only when you were little babe in your (other) Mother’s arms.
What kind of child are you? Will you now console her in turn, when she is sorrowful?
(You don’t even have to travel to make pilgrimage in reparation. Find out how easy it is. Click here.)
Her dolorous heart is weeping & crying for your loving concern. Not so much for her own sake, but for those other sinner-children who will not ask her divine Son for forgiveness. Who will do the penance for them, lest they remain forever lost to him? She loves them, too, you know. Not just the faithful ones. She must beg her Christ-Child for mercy for them, too. Won’t you ‘help’ her.
Think of it this way. When she takes your prayers & acts of reparation to her Son, she can say: “My adorable Son, look how my little children are doing these small & sweet acts of reparation, begging Thy mercy for my other children, unrepentant sinners though they still are. Is that not dear to Thee? Like the first wobbly steps of a little child, which are dear to its siblings, mother & father? Will it not move Thee to mercy, for the graces necessary to have heaven to rejoice over the conversion of those sinners soon? Let us rejoice again, My Son, as at the wedding feast of Cana. And I shall tell them all, new converts included, to do whatever it is Thou tellest them to do. Then canst Thou turn the watery tears of their compunction into the wine of Thy Forgiving Blood in them!”
You see. Nobody makes pilgrimage alone.
Indeed. As the Eastern Christians are wont to say, by way of repeated reminder: “Christ is among us!”
There are numerous occasions and ways in which every Christian encounters Christ on pilgrimage. Make pilgrimage and find out for yourself.
Encounter Christ in the sacrament of penance.
In the Most Blessed Sacrament of the altar. In prayer. (Let pilgrimage teach you again to pray, like you never have before.)
In the preaching of the sacred Clergy, or in the private counsel you receive from them.
In the new-found friends, in the souls … and ‘soles’! … of other pilgrims, who suffer, just like you — but mostly like Our Long-suffering Lord-Christ. And learn to console him.
Experience the “TLC” of Christ in the merciful aid pilgrims receive from pilgrim-volunteers of the Company of St. René Goupil.
They are ready to transport weary pilgrims every step of the way. Ready to give a cup of water, a bite of food, an helping hand in camps and on the rode. First aid, too.
Whether you walk one step or all of them to the destination shrine of Our Lady, you follow in the footsteps of the martyrs.
