“Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord. From henceforth now, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, for their works follow them.” (Rev. xiv:13)
Pilgrims are asked to pray, in their charity, for the repose of the soul of veteran pilgrim, pilgrimage co-founder, and beloved friend, Robert B. Whealan of Cedar Grove, NJ, who passed away on Bright Saturday, 2 April 2016, at age 86.
For fourteen of the Pilgrimage’s 21 years, Bob first co-founded, then organized and guided the Transportation-Team of the Company of St. René Goupîl, helping pilgrims every step of The Way — planning every year for months & months, long before pilgrims arrived in New York to walk the three days from the Lake of the Blessed Sacrament to the Shrine at Auriesville.
An obituary appears here and here.
Please see the eulogy of his pilgrim-friends, published here.
