Pilgrimage leads co-founder & beloved friend in Christ, Ted “Hank” Amberg, into the afterlife

“Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord. From henceforth now, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, for their works follow them.” (Rev. xiv:13)

Pilgrims are asked to pray, in their charity, for the repose of the soul of veteran pilgrim, pilgrimage co-founder, and beloved friend, Theodore Henry “Hank” Amberg of Goodrich, Michigan, who passed away Saturday, 9 July 2016, at age 82.

For fifteen of the Pilgrimage’s first 21 years, Ted (together with his devoted spouse, Audrey) co-founded, then helped to organize the spiritual exercise, helping pilgrims every step of The Way — planning every year, long before pilgrims arrived in New York to walk the three days from the Lake of the Blessed Sacrament to the Shrine at Auriesville.

An obituary appears here and also here.

Friends have prepared a fitting eulogy, which we publish here.

Reading the eulogy will help make sense of the Director’s call to every pilgrim to pray to God in thanksgiving for all the gifts he has bestowed on us through the collaborations of Ted Amberg — and his aggrieved widow, Audrey.

Please also pray for the consolation in faith for Audrey and sons Mike & Tom, and daughters Christine & Susie.
