Question #4 – “Where can a pilgrim stay overnight Thursday, to be ready for step-off early Friday morning?” 2022

Once you’ve registered, begun to pray with fellow pilgrims, and requested the shuttle, it’s time to make plans to overnight Thursday in order to be ready to form up with your brigade, pray  holy Mass, eat breakfast, and step-off bright & early Friday morning.

There are a few choices, which are as follows, in order of pilgrim-popularity:

1.   Stay at the Lake George Battleground Campground.
  2224 State Route 9
  Lake George, NY 12845
  518/668-3348
  https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24453.html

NOTE:   The online “ReserveAmerica [dot] com site linked below shows “no sites available” for Thursday, September 22. The Battleground Campground is sold-out already to fellow pilgrims. A pilgrim can ‘take his chances’ to meet-up with a fellow pilgrim, to ask to stay on his reserved site: six campers are permitted per site. Alternately, reserve a tent-site at another campground nearby, or at a motel in Lake George Village. Read on.

Reserve a campsite at Lake George Battleground Campground.

The cost to camp there Thursday evening is not covered by the registration fee. Pilgrims pay when reserving a campsite online, or at the entrance to the Campground upon arrival.

The Company of St. René Goupil volunteers will shuttle pilgrims from their PT terminal in Albany or (if driving) from the destination Shrine at Auriesville (where pilgrims can retrieve their vehicles at the end of the pilgrimage, Sunday) to the above Battleground Campground for required check-in Thursday afternoon and evening, provided they have requested the shuttle in advance.  Pilgrims reform with their brigades Friday morning bright and early (at the Million Dollar Beach parking lot) not far from the Campground, and step-off directly from the Campground.

NOTE: There is no need to shuttle pilgrims from Lake George Battleground Campground to form up with one’s brigade at the the Million Dollar Beach parking lot, because the two locations are close to each other, and the step-off point Friday morning is the same Campground.

2.   Overnight at Cramer’s Point Motel.
  3382 Lake Shore Dr
  Lake George, NY 12845-6620
  518/668-2292
  stay@cramerspointmotel.com
  http://www.cramerspointmotel.com/

The cost for staying there is also not covered by the registration fee.

Reserve a room at Cramer’s Point Motel. Mention you are a pilgrim, and that you are willing to share a room with another pilgrim in order to qualify for a reduced rate.

See this page for other motels in Lake George Village.

Again, the Company of St. René Goupil (CSRG) volunteers will shuttle pilgrims from their PT terminal in Albany or (if driving) from the destination Shrine at Auriesville (where pilgrims can retrieve their vehicles at the end of the pilgrimage, Sunday) to Cramer’s Point Motel for required check-in Thursday evening, provided they have requested the shuttle in advance.  The CSRG drivers return to Cramer’s Point Motel very early in the morning Friday to shuttle pilgrims to reform with their brigades at the “Million Dollar Beach”, close to the Mass site and step-off location.

The volunteer-organizers will also schedule to shuttle you from your over-night accommodations to the step-off location Friday morning.

4.   Choose from among other motels in Lake George Village.
