Your gift on her birthday? – Nativity of Our Blessed Lady

Nativity of Blessed Virgin MaryYou bet’cha. Today’s your lucky day.

You can thank Our Blessed and all-Immaculate Lady, St. Mary the Mother of God, whose feast – her holy Nativity – we celebrate today. September 8.

Thanks to your Mother, in other words, you don’t have to miss the pilgrimage because you were ‘a day late and a few dollars short’ (again?) this year.

Besides ‘alms for palms‘ to sponsor you, the organizers’ policy is that no one is turned away from pilgrimage for want of the registration fee.

Not only on September 8, but this year on 11 other special days — three more remaining — families and groups can still avail of the discounts which expired June 1 when they register together – minimum of three pilgrims.

Which special days?

There are an even dozen before September 28.

Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary – July 2
Our Lady of Mount Carmel – July 16
St. Anne, Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary – July 26
St. Ignatius of Loyola – July 31
Vigil of the Dormition & Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – August 14
Feast of the Dormition & Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – August 15
St. Joachim, Father of the Blessed Virgin Mary – August 16
Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary – August 22
Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – September 8
St. Peter Claver, SJ – September 9
Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary – September 12
Feast of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary – September 15

Is there anything else one has to do besides register on those days?

Yes.

1. First, you need to register with at least two other pilgrims.
2. Also, the discounted fee must be paid online, via PayPal.

Needed is just a valid credit card to get started.

3. Finally, the registration and the payment must also be postmarked on the day of the feast.

But hurry. The ‘grace period’ ends tonight, September 8, at 23:59 PDT.

And you must register with at least two other pilgrims — friends or family, or fellow students.

Be sure to read this post carefully (and to the end) to learn how exactly to avail of the discount on this day of ‘grace’.

To maximize your discount, register with more than two friends, family members or fellow students. See this page for intermittent ‘grace’ periods — days on which, thanks to your Blessed Mother in heaven, you, pilgrim-wayfarers in peril of shipwreck, can obtain, by a simple act of humble honor shown to her, the discounted rate for the registration fee after all.

No one is turned away for want of a fee.

Having difficulty affording it? See this page to help you find sponsorship. Pilgrims call it alms for palms“. Simply beg fellow Catholics to contribute to your material expenses, like transportation. And promise to take their intentions to the destination shrine.

They can also contribute to your registration fee, from this page.

Not yet sure you can make it, but don’t want to risk losing the discount?

PRE-register today to get the discount — and a jump on preparations until you can make the final decision.
